VERTICAL ENERGY PRODUCTION

This project is my thesis and it is still ongoing. My thesis question is “How can tall buildings help save the environment?” To answer this question, I am looking at the implementation of large-scale, vertical power-production buildings that are combined with mixed-adaptable programming that is directed toward helping, improving, and protecting the environment. The world is getting denser. The population is increasing, resources are diminishing, cities are expanding, the land is becoming scarcer, man-made production is compounding, and with it all, our carbon emissions are skyrocketing. Energy is becoming an increasingly needed resource in order to sustain our population. There is a trend of urbanization in our cities, which requires more resources, space, and energy in a limited area, but it is hard to incorporate energy production within a dense urbanscape. Energy production must expand vertically & condense and maximize its building footprint. Skyscrapers need to be self-sustaining and energy-productive.
